Deal and Betteshanger Lions v Canterbury
Another win for the boys
Our young Lions hosted Canterbury this Sunday and did themselves proud.
Both Canterbury and Deal trained well together prior to the match, with Canterbury's coach's' mentioning to me on several occasions on how well behaved our boys were (he's clearly never seen them on a normal training day lol)
Canterbury arrived with 20 plus players, whilst we were down to a bare 8 this week for various reasons. Our boys then played 2 back to back matches against Canterbury, winning both. The matches were both very close and well contested by both teams.
Trys were scored by Noah W, Finley W, Sebastian P, Nathan and Will P.
This weeks awards went to:
William Price "Man of the Match".............................Wills did everything well this weekend, he scored, defended and created chances on both matches.
Jonny Lees "Tackler of the Match"..........................Jonny tackled relentlessly in both matches and prevent Canterbury from crossing the line on numerous occasions.
Sebastian Powell "Try of the Match".......................Sebastian's try was a superb solo effort, running through the Canterbury lines with pace and power to score what would turn out to be a match winning try.
