A good, well-contested game between two competent sides
On a typically wet Tonbridge pitch , after much rain, this game was played in reasonable conditions
The TJ side were strong and competent and the Lions rose to the occasion and matched the Home side's play .
The forwards contest was even, but despite some good tackling by the Lions, the strong and fast TJ backs created good attacks, broke some weak tackles and scored two tries , neither of which was converted . The Lions scored a penalty by Halpin .
After some changes at half-time, the Lions stared to attack better and despite another try to TJs through strong running on the right, the Lions made ground .
A good scrummage near the TJ line resulted in a very good try by the forwards, which was converted by Halpin .
The Lions attack continued and Gavin Elsam ran well through the TJ defence to score a very good try, which was again converted .
A good, well-contested game between two competent sides .
