This was due to sickness and work commitments in selected players .
Having started brightly, with good defence against the solid and experienced Weavering players, the first score was a penalty to the Home side . This was compounded very early in the game by an injury to young Jake Short, who had to retire .
The young Lions were undeterred by this setback and scored a try from a good scrum .
The backs, ably served by the lively Alex Waldron at Scrum- Half and Joe Clifton at Fly-Half maintained pressure on the Opponents' back line . Waldron broke from a quick penalty and wove an impressive path through the Home defence to score a good try . Henry Evans missed the conversion narrowly . The Half Time score was 10 - 3 to the Lions .
The second half began with some good scrummaging by the heavier Home side and they drove over for a good try . This was closely followed by a very strong run by a burly Weavering No 8 who went over for another try , which was again converted .
A Weavering forward was given a yellow card for a handling infringement , which evened-up the numbers for a while . From a good Lions scrum, the ball was moved wide and Matt Woods cleverly dummied the defence to score . Evans kicked an excellent conversion .
Weavering scored another try . Unfortunately, Harrison Hinkins suffered a painful hamstring injury at a line-out, and subsequently , playing with only 13 men, the Lions could not prevent another Home try .
This was a very young Lions side, with nine 17 and 18 year-old players ! These young men have gained good experience and shown that they can compete and out-run many opponents .
This was a good performance and the Side continues to progress .
