. The Lions forward pack played and scrummaged quite well, taking the ball 'against the head' on several occasions . Also, Marcus Nelson and Jake Short took some good line-out ball and Henry Evans kicked well for position .
However, that was where the good news ended because the failure to tackle properly the strong-running Medway backs resulted in a series of tries for the Home team .
That really was the story of the game and the very young Lions backs needed some experience from older players to shore-up the defensive lines . There needs to be much more determination and technique in the tackling from the backs' defence for that to be effective .
A disappointing afternoon !
