On a cold, dull day at Aylesford , with a strong wind, The Lions 2nd Team won a good game.

Both sides struggled to use the wind properly to their advantage, and the two packs of forwards strained to gain superiority and thus give good ball to their backs . The scrums and the loose rucking was quite even, but the Bulls’ Fly-Half made a good break and quick passing produced a try, which was converted .

The Lions responded well, won some good set scrums and Michael Rowarth , playing this time at centre, showed how he could penetrate the opposition line and passed the ball when he could have continued to score .
Liam Giuides at Scrum-Half, was steady and put out good passes from the scrums and the ball was well-used by the Lions backs . Quick ball and passing led to Full-Back Ed Topping scoring a good try .

Eventually , the wind was used to advantage and Marcus Nelson caught well in the line-outs and young Aaron Miles, a new player at Wing- Forward , tackled well around the scrums .
Rowarth broke through in the centre again and ran strongly for a good try , which was unconverted . The score at Half-Time was 10 – 7 to The Lions .

The Lions had the better of the wind in the second half and in another attack, Rowarth scored another good try from a break in the centre . Matt Halpin converted .

The Bulls scored a good try , which was converted , and then the Lions resumed the attack . After a good scrum and drive, Aaron Miles touched down and this was also converted .
The match, in quite difficult conditions , was played in a good manner and was well-refereed .
