During the first half, The Lions put on good pressure but too often the ball was taken by the backs when standing still and the lack of practice as a back line was evident . However, rather against the run of play at that stage, Dave Rose kicked a good penalty to bring the scores to 10 - 5 to the Home side .
Unfortunately, Marcus Nelson fell awkwardly in a line-out and was replaced by Andy Seaman .
Then the Lions pack continued with pressure and again Dixon touched-down from a forward drive .
Ashford responded with a converted try , again after some poor attempted tackles, and the game ended .
