The Lions, who had lost several players to the depleted First Team, defended well and when the pack managed to secure some good ball, the backs showed pace and penetration . In particular, the young winger, Olu Martins ran nearly the length of the field for a good try .
The contest swayed back and forward and the lighter Lions forwards were too inclined to keep the game tight and challenge the Dover forwards when a better tactic would have been to move the ball wider and to stretch the Dover defence .
However, the Home side prevailed and secured a valuable victory .
