After conceding an early penalty, the Lions struck back when Matt Curd crashed over for a try following a break by Joseph Hinkins. John Sheehan converting for a 7-3 lead.
Sheehan, playing his second game at fly half after being switched from his normal full back position, missed a couple o penalty attempts but the Lions added their second try when skipper Adam Michael fed Gavin Elsom for the wing to score an unconverted try in the corner.
Sevenoaks kicked another penalty to reduce the half time deficit to 12-6. Head coach David Wiggins made a couple of changes for the second half with with Wes Bull replacing Hinkins at No 8 and Carl Thatcher coming on for Elsom.
There was little to choose between the two sides in the opening stages of the second half but the Lions scored a crucial try midway through the half when wing Luke Armstrong chased a Sheehan kick over the top and outpaced the cover defence to score.John Sheehan converting to take the score to a 19-6 lead for the Lions.
Carl Thatcher was then sin binned 15 minutes from time for killing the ball and Sevenoaks sensed their chance to stage a late revival.The Lions, However, then proceeded to display the sort of defensive resilience which has become their trademark under the guidance of Wiggins an the home side were unable to make the advantage count.
