The Lions eased into the next round of the RFU Intermediate Cup with a four-try performance at the Drill Field on Saturday.
The Lions were always in control against the London South West visitors after skipper Adam Michael set them on their way with a 10th minute individual try, bursting through following a line out to touch down under the Vandals posts.
Fly half Connor Moss added the conversion for a 7-0 lead. With half an hour gone Michael turned provider setting up Eoin McGrath for a run to the line.
Unfortunately Moss was off target with his conversion attempt. It meant the Lions were 12-0 up at the half.
Within 5 minutes of the restart the outcome of the tie was virtually settled with Joseph "Hovi" Hinkins touching down to secure a push over try from the oppositions 5 yard line.
Moss added the conversion for a 19-0 lead and five minutes later this became 26-0 following a neat move involving wing Luke Armstrong, who coming off his flank ended with Liam Richards, one of the clubs growing Australian tourist section, touching Down. Moss who was having a decent day with the boot got the extras.
Towards the end of the game the Lions lost McGrath and Wade Roberts to yellow cards but coped with the loss admirably although towards the end Weydbridge managed to get through the Lions stalwart defence for a consolation try.
