Deal started brightly, with Sam Kenicer coming close to opening the scoring in the first passage of play, only just being forced into touch near the Lordswood line. Seb then capitalised on a mistake by Lordwood from the resulting lineout, opening the scoring.

Nathan was next on the scoresheet, powering down the wing and shrugging off several tackles before touching down under the posts. Jonathan Mattison converted. Soon after, a strong run from Ethan Imajemite down the right created momentum, with the ball worked across to the left for Nathan to finish again. Jonathan converted once more.

Lordswood responded well, finding a gap in Deal’s defensive line to score their first try of the match.

Deal quickly reasserted control, with forwards Seb and Aston Armstrong making strong carries to drive play deep into Lordswood territory. From close range, William Lisle powered over the line, with Jonathan converting to give Deal a commanding 33–5 lead at half-time.

The second half continued in much the same fashion. William Northcott struck first after a well-worked move created space in the Lordswood defence, with Jonathan converting again.

Aston then crossed the line following a series of powerful carries from William Lisle and Seb, combined with a clever switch from Brandon Ashington to open up space. Jonathan converted.

Isaac Youen then made a strong carry to win a penalty close to the line, and from the resulting play Aston grabbed his second, catching the defence off guard with a clever move.

Another quick-thinking moment saw Jonathan take a penalty quickly, breaking through to score under the posts before converting his own try.

From the restart, Seb gathered the ball and produced an excellent solo effort, carrying all the way to the corner to score against a tiring Lordswood side.

Following a Lordswood scrum and clearance, Sam recovered possession and drove play into the opposition 22. After a breakdown contest, Jonathan moved the ball wide to William Northcott, who finished confidently for his second try. Brandon converted.

In the closing moments, Luan Van Den Heever picked from the base of a ruck and powered over in the corner to cap off an impressive performance.

Overall, it was a dominant display from Deal, with some excellent rugby played throughout. Jake Jacobson stood out for his relentless tackling, while William Northcott impressed with his physicality and involvement across the pitch.

Man of the Match: Seb Mugford – for his relentless drive, tackling, and outstanding work rate.

Final score: Deal & Betteshanger 69 - Lordswood 5.
