The Lions Winning streak comes to an end
Deal and Betteshanger Lions travelled to South East London to play Old Colfeians on Saturday, the home side being relegated from LSE 1 last season.
The Lions were full of confidence but with no past history between the two sides the outcome of this game was always going to be hard to predict.
The home side Colfeians took an early lead with a penalty after just 3 mins for a 3 nil lead .
The Lions struck back with the ever elusive Luke Armstrong
who was always going to be in the mix. Connor Moss
converting to take the score to 7-3 to the Lions.
The lead was to change hands almost immediately when the home side turned over the ball in the Lions 22, and it found itself along to right winger to score wide out. The try was converted. 10-7 to Old Colfeians.
restored the Lions lead with a try but it was not converted.12-10 to the Lions.
With half time approaching Colfeians regained the lead with a unconverted try. The score remained at 15-12 at the break
There was to be no score in the second half with both defences cancelling out each others attacking play even when the Lions were reduced to 14 men with a sin bin. A good contest which could of easily gone either way.
The Lions will be disappointed not to maintain their unbeaten record but theres along way to go in the league so they will be looking to restore normal status asap.
