Deal and Betteshanger produced one of their best displays of the season to push unbeaten London 2 South East leaders Medway to the limit on Saturday.
The home side were just four points clear before scoring three tries in the final five minutes to secure their 12th straight win and preserve their 100% record.
Deal coach Dave Wiggins was delighted with his team’s performance which also drew praise from his Medway counterpart Taff Gwilliam, whose team also won their last six games of last season.
Wiggins said: “It’s not often you get an opposition coach come to the team huddle and and say ‘well played lads.’
“He (Taff) told our boys it was the toughest game they’d had all season and said they could all leave with their heads held high.”
