When my wife Mandee was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2012 we did not know what the future would hold.Fortunately support was just round the corner.

Mandee, at the time worked for Amanda Jamieson at Balloonarama party, and it was she who introduced Mandee to Chantele Rashbrook .Both Amanda and Chantele , having been diagnosed with Breast Cancer, met on an infrequent basis with a small group of woman in the same situation to offer each other support. Mandee had felt isolated after her Diagnosis and this group was exactly what she needed.

It quickly became apparent that, with the group growing in numbers, in a short period of time there was a need to set up a more regular get together. Plans were put in place and the “BC Girls Of Deal” support Group was born. The group met in each others houses and was increasing in size. A scary statistic but unfortunately a reality of the number of Woman in Deal being diagnosed with Breast Cancer. There was no other option but a need for the BC Girls of Deal to find a bigger venue. One location was an obvious choice, and I was approached as a Director of the Deal and Betteshanger RFC to ask if the Club could be made available. I approached the Board of Directors and it was a unanimous decision. It is safe to say that not only the Directors but many members and family's within the club have been affected in one way or another by this awful disease. It was only right to extend our support in this way

Deal and Betteshanger RFC are pleased that we can help The BC Girls of Deal

Chantele Rashbrook who is affectionately known as " The Boss” along with the other BC girls offer a great support network in Deal to woman dealing with Breast cancer, at every stage. They do fantastic work for the Breast Cancer Now charity both in awareness and raising funds for essential research, as well as campaigning to get access to critical drugs, currently not being readily made available for everyone.

If any woman is in need of support then please contact Chantele on 07968 725090 or chanteler@live.co.uk.
