After the game on Saturday, the referee had cause to request a meeting with our head coach David Wiggins to discuss an abusive spectator in order to highlight the spectator's poor behaviour. The referee said that the spectator continually abused him throughout the match.

Unfortunately the referee was unable to identify who he was at the time but the club is making further enquiries.

This is clearly not in the spirit of the game, and will not be tolerated by Deal and Betteshanger RFC.

In future, perpetrators will be asked to leave.

In our great game, RESPECT for officials is paramount and underpins everything. Your co-operation in this matter is appreciated.
